How you could increase your typing speed? What is the easiest way to update your typing skill?

Who doesn’t want to type like an expert? Everyone wants to develop their typing ability and increase typing speed. Many people even try a lot. They practice a lot but failed to reach 60–70 WPM speed. Do you ever think why people failed to increase their typing speed even after practicing a lot? The reason is they don’t practice in the right way. They don’t follow the proper method to type.

We all know that practice is the key to success. But you should practice in the right way to get success. Almost every professional typist use touch typing method. It is the fastest and easiest typing method. So, if you want to type like a pro, use the touch typing method.

Touch typing is the method where the typist doesn’t look at the keyboard while type. They memorize the keyboard layout. This needs great skill. If you are a beginner this will not be going to very easy for you. But once you learn the method this will be the easiest way of typing.

So, what after learning the touch typing? You have to practice a lot to set fingers on the keyboard. Make a schedule and keep at least one hour reserved for typing practice.

To practice, you may use any text processing software (eg. MS Word) or go for an online typing speed test program.

Beside word typing, I also recommend practicing “10 keys” as it is very important to type numbers and symbols. Although you can type numbers & symbols without “10 keys” but using it can definitely increase your typing speed.

Typing games are also very useful to practice typing. Sometimes it feels annoying to practice typing, especially if you are practicing for a long time. But as we all love to play games, it is easy to learn to type while enjoying the game. At least you wouldn’t get bored while practicing.

There are several factors also that can affect your typing ability. For example, your seating position, the keyboard you use or the distance between you and the keyboard. You should focus on those factors also.

Keyboard also matter a lot to type fast. To type continuously, use a keyboard with an arm pad. You may use any keyboard layout, but many professional typists use DVORAK layout to type. World’s fastest typist Barbara Blackburn used a DVORAK keyboard to make the world record.

Lastly, practice makes a man perfect. So keep practicing, but in the right way.
